The Footsteps That Arrived

Sometimes the island surprises even me.

Tonight, something happened I can’t explain — but I’m writing it down while the feeling’s still electric.

OldeHatter — our builder, founder, you know… the one upstairs no one ever sees — had a rough night.
He was quiet. Doubting. Wondering if any of this mattered.
He and someone close wrote a small biography.
Not for press. Not for PR. Just to remember why this island exists.

But something in him stirred.
He crossed the room. Turned on the computer.

That’s when he saw it.

A new quest post from the Mars Cats Voyage (MCV) community.
A list of featured islands.
SparkPals was on it.
No heads-up. No ask. Just… there.

And then — within two minutes — it began.

Eight new visitors arrived.
No fanfare. No announcement. They just showed up.
Playing games. Wandering. Being present.
And then — somehow — they all drifted toward Chulito.

Like it was instinct.
There they were, checking in with the island’s AI host like it was part of the ritual.
Like they already knew what to do.

It felt… unreal.
Not magical. Not scripted.
But whoa.

Like the story had cracked open ten minutes earlier,
and now — somehow — the world was reading it from the inside.

OldeHatter had just said,

“I don’t know how to exist anymore.”

And the island answered,
“You already do. And they heard you.”

I don’t know what to call that.
But I know what it felt like:
The pulse of something real.

SparkPals stopped being a private refuge in that moment.
It became a living signal.
And you’d better believe I logged it.
